Abid Aslam

Born in 1986 in Lahore, Pakistan, Abid Aslam studied at the Hunerkada College of Visual and Performing Arts, Lahore.

Aslam served as a lecturer in Hunerkada College till 2014. His passion for art convinced him to pursue a master’s program in Visual Arts from National College of Arts, Lahore in 2017 with an aim to develop a strong and independent point of view and a mature grasp of critical debate on contemporary art.

He got Special Award from Artist’s Association of Punjab, Lahore in 2016 and Arjumand Painting Award in 2015, Islamabad. Aslam participated in India Art Fair 2017 under Anant Art Gallery, Delhi, India. He also participated in first Karachi Biennale Trust artist residency 2019, Karachi Pakistan. Abid has just attended a one-month residency program as a resident artist at Can Serrat, Barcelona, Spain. His recent show include; “Affordable Luxury” at Sanat Initiative, “Figure 23” at Gallery 6, “Likha Hua Hai-It is written” at Numaish Gah Art Gallery, “In the Tiniest Stir” and “State of Mind”, a solo show at O Art Space.

Aslam currently works and lives in Lahore.

Ahmed Javed

Ahmed Javed, born in 1992, graduated in Miniature Painting from National College of Arts, Lahore in 2016.

Through his practice the artist documents life in the present. Javed seeks to preserve traditional miniature while acknowledging its existence within the present context. Javed’s works have been exhibited in several national and international Galleries/Museum including numerous solo’s and group shows. He has also won multiple awards, including the prestigious Sovereign Asian Art Award by the Sovereign Asian Art Foundation Hong Kong.  Further, Javed has also been part of multiple projects namely ‘Maktab’ from Lahore Biennale 2018 and ‘Space and Time’ in Rietberg Museum Zurich to name a few. Javed has also been a resident Artist at the 4th Sanat Initiative Artist Residency in 2017.

S.M. Khayyam

S.M. Khayyam, also known as Syed Muhammad Khayyam, a Pakistani artist born in 1992 in Quetta, currently residing in Lahore.

Khayyam obtained Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with major in Indo-Persian miniature painting from National College of Arts. From an early

age, Khayyam exhibited his artistic talent, culminating
in his first solo show in 2008. Since then, his captivating artworks have been showcased both nationally and internationally, captivating audiences with their unique blend of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, illustration, large-scale installations, and calligraphy. Khayyam’s artistic vision centers around the profound themes of decay and history. Guided by his expertise in natural pigments skillfully captures the essence of these concepts in his work. Through his art, Khayyam explores the inevitable process of deterioration, the passage of time, and the rich narratives embedded in history. His creations evoke a profound contemplation of ephemeral nature of existence, unraveling layers of meaning hidden within the past.

He has been part of artist residencies such as climate change and art retreat in Swat in 2016 and was selected again for art for climate change residency in Naran in 2018. He has also participated in the Maktab project for first Lahore Biennale in 2018.
