Noman Khan

My name is Noman. I was born and raised in Quetta. I decided to become a fine artist due to the lack of foundation of artistic integrity

in Balochi society. In order to pursue a career in art, I dropped out of law school because I believe that art is the one thing that can bring humanity together. My artistic process has equipped me with an increased sense of empathy for those who hide behind camouflage and i seek to deliver the same through my art

The art that I have developed for my thesis is the emphasis of things being hidden in plain sight. I have used the concept of camouflage to expose the things hidden in plain sight. I chose the green palette to better show the rich green environments that are hidden from tourists and that I as a local have explored thoroughly throughout my childhood years. My artwork also poses everyday images seen through a desensitised lens in order to depict the local sentiment of people of Balochistan

As the word camouflage is derived from the French word camoufler, which means to disguiseor to concealand is a practice that dates back to the 1800s

Camouflage has now end up an crucial a part of visible culture. While its avenue use- graffiti, skateboard designs, et al might advise that it’s far simply a pleasing design, it’s miles really well worth remembering its history and persevering its cultural and political significance across the world.
